Guardian families are carefully interviewed and selected to raise one of our breeding dogs as their own. When you become a guardian, our dog grows up in your home with your family as a family member and spends holidays, vacations, and more with their family and will be a part of this new home for the rest of their life.

No. We take care of all reproductive care and costs including caring for new puppies. We are their home away from home. Mommas will visit for any testing and breeding and will stay with us as we help deliver their puppies and until the puppies are around 8 weeks old and have been weaned by their momma.

No cost for the dog, but you will be responsible for food and care like any other dog you would care for. To put it simply, we will pay for all the reproductive care (genetic testing, breeding, blood testing, whelping puppies, ultrasounds, semen analysis) but you take care of all the other normal dog expenses. We lay out simple guidelines for routine care, feeding and other costs to keep your dog in optimal physical and mental health.

Yes! For guardian homes adopting a male dog, we will compensate you $200 for each litter produced.

Stud service will be assisted by one of our specialists who will pick up the stud or be on-site. We will provide 24hr notice prior to picking him up for service, which would generally take 2-4 hours. If you are asked and able to take the stud to the Veterinary office or another location for service, we will pay you $100 for your time.

For guardian homes adopting a momma dog, we will compensate you $500 per litter produced. We will take care of any fees and services for her reproductive care. It is up to you to communicate with us and help us discover first signs of her heat cycle.

Once your dog is in heat, we will communicate with you to schedule pick up times within the next 1-2 weeks to test her progesterone levels and have her bred.

We will recommend a high-quality healthy dog food that will promote a healthy diet and life for your dog. A healthy diet will help your dog live much healthier and happier lives as well as reduce diet related risks like diabetes, tumors, cancer, etc.

We require guardians be very careful with their dogs to not be around any poisonous substances or chemicals such as chemicals to eradicate rodents, pests, and insects.

If the dog becomes injured or sick, you must notify us immediately so we can be involved in any decision regarding the health and care.

We ask that you keep your dog safe from any environments such as small children that may play to rough with them. Also keep your dog in the home and in a fenced yard where there is not risk of them running into traffic or getting lost.

Please do not leave your dog outside if no one is home.

Be sure to use a collar or harness and leash when taking your dogs on walks.

Basic obedience training is encouraged and we will provide a free online course to help you train your dog. This ensures they have the proper house manners and obedience so if they are outside and about to dart into a dangerous situation they will listen to you when you tell them to come or sit.

If you would like to go on any short trips or vacations, please let us know and if we’re available we would be happy to care for them. If there’s a situation where we’re unable to and you have to find someone else to care, please let us know so we know how to communicate with them in case they go into heat.

To keep it simple, we pay for anything that has to do with the dogs reproductive system and breeding needs. We also pay for and take care of anything with the puppies.

Guardians will pay for everything else like the food, toys, supplies, crates, vaccinations, wormings, flea meds, heartworm meds, grooming, etc.

Once a dog is retired from breeding, he/she is yours to keep. We will pay for the cost of spay or neuter and transfer ownership to you so they can spend the rest of their happy years in your home with the family they grew up with.

Usually a male dog is bred for 3-4 years beginning the time of their first breeding and a female is bred for up to 6 liters. This can vary slightly per dog and always depends on the health and wellbeing of the dog.

Right now, we only accept guardians within 50 miles of Salt Lake City, Utah. The momma will come to live with us about one week before her due date just to give her time to settle down and get acquainted with us and become comfortable with where she will be having her puppies. She will stay with us between 7-9 weeks after puppies are born (depending on when the puppies have been properly weaned off mommas milk).

We will usually start breeding females on their second heat or after they have reached one years of age. If your dog goes into heat any time after twelve months of age, you must notify us immediately so we can plan the proper schedule for progesterone tests and breeding. Our decision whether to breed or not will depend on her health, maturity, age, and current situations. We would also like to be notified if your dog has reached a heat cycle before 12 months so we can estimate when her next heat cycle might be.

Dogs are pregnant for 63 days.

Yes! We encourage visits whenever you can so momma knows you’re still around and I’m sure she will want to show off her beautiful puppies to you.

Most of mommas usual care and routine will be the same during most of her pregnancy. She may act a little more tired and not want to run around as much and her eating routine might vary. It’s okay to encourage the same kind of play and exercise the first part of her pregnancy but for the final 3 weeks, please encourage her to take it easy and relax.

While the dog is in your care or home, any illness or injury that happens to them is your financial responsibility. You must communicate any symptoms or anything that happens with us so we can be involved in any treatment plans or use of medications.
